ENCOURAGEMENT IN THE MIDST OF DISCOURAGEMENT

ENCOURAGEMENT IN THE MIDST OF DISCOURAGEMENT An individual's routine life is filled with so many unexpected and at times unpleasant situations, that it is very easy to be discouraged or disappointed. Last time we learnt about gratitude. Today we are going to hear God for encouragement. Before we go for the camp it is good for us to have a positive frame of mind and an open heart to receive all that is prepared for us. Just before the camp there might be so many things that migh go against our desires, like a classic example is that a dress might not fit us, which we thought we'll keep for a good ocassion to wear. Fathers Love

Many of us may have had a good Father – child relationship. According to statistics, when a child is secure in a Father’s love, they grow up into healthy adults. They are secure and build healthy relationships. So now what? What are we deriving at? We have a greater parent. We have God the father. It’s like calling ourself the children of a king. Imagine if the Ambanis came one day to your house and said you are our son. I am writing my property in your name. What’s the feeling like? Definitely, you feel grateful for your earthly parents, but you also have a proud moment that, my father is no ordinary person but, he’s so rich and popular. It’s the same ...

Perseverance

“By perseverance the snail reached the ark.” - Charles H. Spurgeon Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another. The definition of perseverance means that they have a determined continuation in something with a steady and continued action of belief that occurs over a long period of time amongst and despite especially difficult circumstances.  Perseverance is vital to growing in our faith, and God wants his people to persevere no matter what happens, so we have to learn how to overcome obstacles, difficulties, trials, and tribulation to experience victory in Christ. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer Rom 12: 12 12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the ...

Regret

Overcoming Regret . Regret, as per our knowledge, is something that either we or others have messed up. And we have to learn to overcome it and face it, as it is not going to stop following us. The ancient Israelites regretted having fled from Egypt as slaves and blamed Moses for their desert malaise. (They said, Things were much better in Egypt when compared to the life they were living in the Desert) It is quite interesting, The American revolutionary spy Nathan Hale famously regretted “having but one life to give” for his new nation. (He regretted that he has only one life to give for his nation) Steven Jobs — regretted in a final interview that he had not been closer to his four ...

Forgiveness

Forgiveness, There’s a Spanish story of a father and son who had become estranged. The son ran away and the father set off to find him. He searched for months but to no avail. Finally, in a last desperate effort to find him, the father put an ad in a Madrid newspaper. The ad read: “Dear Paco, meet me in front of this newspaper office at noon on Saturday. All is forgiven. I love you. Your Father.” On Saturday, 800 Pacos showed up, looking for forgiveness and love from their fathers. (Bits & Pieces, October 15, 1992, p. 13). Many times we are so filled with unforgiveness that we cannot see the good in others. As we know it is very difficult to forgive because of ...
